Living room
Two sets of French doors onto the balcony. Linen sofas, printed armchairs, a kilim over pale stone floors, watercolours of the island under picture lights, and a smart television.
Kitchen
Full-height cabinetry, stone worktops, induction hob, oven, dishwasher, large fridge-freezer and a Nespresso machine. The breakfast island seats four, and a round table for six sits a few steps away under a wrought-iron chandelier.
Three bedrooms
All doubles. Hand-upholstered headboards, orthopaedic mattresses, reading lights either side, individual air conditioning. Two open onto a balcony.
Three bathrooms
In breccia, black marble and grey marble. Walk-in glass showers, basins carved from the same block as the vanity, heated towel rails and lit mirrors. Towels, hairdryer and soap provided.
Two balconies
Both look out over the town: a fortress at either end, the bell tower of Agios Spyridonas at eye level, the roofs of the Old Town below, the Ionian, and the mountains of Epiros across the strait.
A quiet hour above a lively island. The campanile of Agios Spyridonas — the tallest tower still standing within the Venetian walls, and by most honest reckonings the finest view in Kerkyra — keeps four centuries of russet tile and pale plaster in frame. Beyond the rooftops, the Ionian; and on mornings when the wind is from the north, the mountains of Epiros drawn faintly in blue across the strait.
